Pb is a
People
business...

…and putting people first – whether that’s our colleagues, our clients, our audiences, our partners, or our communities – is essential to our ambition: to be a thriving, inclusive and forward-looking agency.
Caring about people means caring about what concerns them, both professionally and personally, which is something we are committed to doing.

Our people

…and putting people first – whether that’s our colleagues, our clients, our audiences, our partners, or our communities – is essential to our ambition: to be a thriving, inclusive and forward-looking agency.
Our Pb+ people programme is a range of benefits for all employees. It’s about providing the right support for everyone – from access to private health care and insurance, critical illness cover and life assurance, to bike to work and tech procurement schemes. We provide volunteer days and prioritise development and training. We are also committed to offering robust mental health support, with Mental Health First Aiders across the business and access to counselling services.

…and it’s not all about the work! At Pb, getting together and having a great time is a priority. Our social committee organises a brilliant range of activities that are open to all. As well as our big Summer and Christmas parties there might be go-karting, ghost walks, hike & bike challenges, food-truck Fridays, ad-hoc get togethers, and more!

Our communities

We’re proud to be where we are in Norfolk and Lothian – and being able to play a meaningful part in those communities, and beyond, is something we constantly strive to do. Our ongoing support and commitment to The Clare School in Norwich, a specialist complex needs school, that provides an incredible learning environment and is certainly a place that we have learnt a lot from. Break are another fantastic Norfolk-based charity providing much needed support for young people leaving care. For their recent GoGo Discover campaign we created Ziggy Startusk – a Mammoth sculpture that was put up for auction, raising a whopping £7,500 – and provided production support for their extremely successful event. Our relationship with healthcare isn’t just a commercial one – as part of the government’s vaccination programme for children we supported the campaign for the Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust – providing services across Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Luton, Milton Keynes, Norfolk, Peterborough and Suffolk with a specially made Lion costume.

Our partnership with Norfolk based breast cancer reconstruction support charity Keeping Abreast has been going for many years – from fashion shows to information films, design support to online insight – we have been extremely proud to be able to offer something to those women, and their families, facing such fearful experiences.

Sport plays a big part in what we do – on a professional level we partner with high profile organisations and events, and on a personal level we have many individuals who are committed to sport in all its guises. It makes sense that we also take our value of caring into this arena. We sponsor Swardeston Cricket Club, a local team who have hit the heights in the amateur game having won the national amateur trophy on several occasions, and field both women’s and men’s teams as well as having several thriving youth teams. Similarly, we are proud to sponsor local youth team Tasburgh United (U11s) in their endeavours to promote an inclusive, fun focused environment encouraging participation from boys and girls.

As partners with Norwich City Community Sports Fund, we are pleased to be involved in helping with their objectives of driving inclusion for people with disabilities, boosting mental health and wellbeing, and supporting disadvantaged people to raise their aspirations. Likewise, as we are fully committed to supporting individuals with additional needs, we took the opportunity to partner with Cambridge United’s Community Trust to help them develop their work offering accessible football sessions to those who often experience barriers to physical activity.

Our industries

Caring within our industry community is another priority. We are committed to playing our part in the creative communication industry that delivers so much to the UK socially, culturally, and economically. We believe passionately in supporting new talent, and to that end, we have forged significant relationships with both Norwich City College and East Suffolk College, by supplying materials as well as sponsoring their short film previews and developing a production apprenticeship with their Production Arts course.

We are also a vocal member of EvCom, champions of the visual and events communications sector and also proud members and sponsors of The Power of Events – the body bringing together the disparate sectors, organisations, representatives and skillsets across the events industry to drive meaningful change, improvement and recognition.

And it isn’t just about trade affiliations. We also engage with Connection Crew, utilising their services as they provide event and production teams that give homeless people opportunities to take ownership of their lives, as well as being a proud sponsor of the Norwich Film Festival, enabling storytellers working within film, video and animation, to get their voices heard. We are keenly aware of the barriers facing young people when trying to get their careers underway. Nurturing talent for the future is a constant challenge that we are wholeheartedly embracing, whether that’s through our partnerships and commitments with regional educational centres including Norwich City College, Ipswich University or the Elevate mentoring programme.

Our world

At Pb we know we have a dual responsibility in the way we operate as a business, and also the way we work with and interpret our clients’ sustainability policies to ensure they also achieve their goals.

For our part, as a business, we run on clean energy, and we are constantly looking at ways to see how we can actively contribute to lowering emissions across all our business activities. In 2025, we are planning to be more specific in our commitments with specific targets, with an implementable action plan, but we know this is a challenging area to define targets which are meaningful and achievable where there are so many variables in our business.

Currently we are developing and implementing our sustainability policy through our sustainability team of 15 employees from across the business who are passionate about what we do and how we operate.

In 2025, we will continue to focus on the following:
    • Design the assets which are used in our projects with  re-use, recycle and re-purpose in mind.
    • Review our manufacturing processes with sustainability at the forefront of our thinking
    • Continue to manage our  waste responsibly integrating recycling principles and opportunities where we can
    • Continue to educate ourselves, our clients and wider community in responsible project delivery and new developments in the events sector
    • Create experiences which place  sustainability  at the heart of the planning process.
